Overall, I find ungrading to be really helpful, beneficial, even motivating for students...and there are also some obvious shortcomings to the method, including students potentially abusing the method's flexibility and missing some key course ideas.

This article reflects on my use of "ungrading" in a new course on Religion and Film that I taught, and the opportunities and problems the use of that strategy presented.

End of semester grading is always a sincere *task* but it always also reminds me that I love what I do.
