So very long answer now shortened, I'd say the system has to change before the people can because most people long for connection, they don't *want* to be selling their wares all the time, it's a matter of need and survival. If it's not that way for you that's definitely something to be grateful for

And even in spaces where we were meant to connect eg. Instagram they have been taken over by egotistical billionaires like Zuck who turned a platform about sharing photos into a human branding platform. Accounts that clearly aren't businesses are prompted to look at their reach and engagement.

I feel like it's not *extra* cash though, times are really tough for a lot of people so that means things they might do as hobbies are now turning into things they have to monetize. I think the majority of people would prefer true connections than business talk but survivalism makes that difficult.

That's true, it's upsetting that we live on a time where this feels necessary. I think if people had their basic needs met they wouldn't feel compelled to monetize at all. We would probably be bartering.
