Are there problems with insurance costs, access to care, and from some OBGYN doctors who malpractice? Yes, but this kind of quackery is not the cure for that, it is what can happen when you're undereducated,underinsured, or have no insurance. Licensed midwifery should be covered through Medicare.

Infant mortality in U.S., while high compared to other countries, is infinitely lower than it was 100 years ago, largely becaause of prenatal care, improved hygiene, modern medical advancements,and vaccines. Now enterprising women are making millions off expectant mothers with "wild birthing"

Midwives assist in situations that call for emergent medical care. We live in the 21st century,not 19th, and can make use of current standards of medical care. Like anti-vaccine rhetoric, the FBS in the story taught women to fear hospital birthing or ridicule them.

They basically say the only route to NYC affordability is through Trump. Maybe that is the mayor's strategy. 1/10 MAGA voted for him, but they were the 1%. If I'd voted for Mamdani I'd feel betrayed.
