I led the Liberal Democrats’ response to the Government’s Devolution Bill, which falls far short of its promises. Instead of empowering local communities, it centralises authority in Mayors, and will leave councils saddled with debt and set up to fail. I called them out on this.

I know the budget is on everyone’s minds at the moment and I’m keen to hear your thoughts. Here are three from me to get the conversation started. I really think it was a missed opportunity on the part of the Labour government.

This week, I joined with fellow West Surrey MPs, Al Pinkerton and Will Forster, in writing to the Secretary of State for Health to share our concerns and seek clarification regarding Frimley Park and Surrey Heartlands ICBs' decision to pause all new ADHD and ASB assessments. More below.

Families and pensioners are struggling to get by, and businesses are going bust while the economy is at a standstill.

Ahead of the budget today, here's the changes I'm hoping to see to improve the lives of people in #Guildford constituency and the country.

I’ve long campaigned on the need to abolish the two-child limit on benefits, that has left countless families in #Guildford constituency and beyond struggling, whilst deepening child poverty across the country.

The Lib Dems are calling for a 5% VAT cut for hospitality to support high streets and boost local businesses. We visited wine bar Cellar Magnifique and spoke to the owner whose comments mirror those of #Guildford-based businesses I speak with.

Another busy week in Parliament and Guildford, speaking up for emergency service personnel, tackling harmful online behaviour, supporting local government discussions, celebrating 30 years of PlayStation with #Guildford’s Media Molecule, and inspiring young leaders to drive positive change.

This afternoon, I popped in to DAiSY Fest which was being held at G Live. The event showcased more than 1000 disabled artists and 25 disability arts organisations from across the county.

It was absolutely buzzing and I was blown away by the wide variety of arts on display.

So pleased to be out knocking on doors in Bellfields this morning with some of the Guildford Lib Dem team. A little soggy by the end but a bit of rain doesn’t deter us! Some great conversations, offers of help and picked up some casework too.

Since becoming an MP, I often hear about the difficulty of getting a driving test here in #Guildford constituency.

I'm hoping to take part in a debate on this issue next week and want to hear from you. Please share your experiences at [email protected].

It was great to join the reception in Parliament to mark 30 years of Playstation and generally celebrate the success of the UK games industry including Guildford’s very own Media Molecule.

I also tried my hand at Astrobot on PS5 and I wasn’t awful!

Sky-high energy bills are hurting families across #Guildford constituency. That’s why I’m joining my Liberal Democrats colleagues and backing our plan to cut bills by £90 a year and put money back in people’s pockets.

Next week's budget is time for the Chancellor to act.

A busy week in #Guildford and Westminster!

I challenged the Government on fixing joint enterprise law, met school leaders to discuss SEND, held a casework surgery, picked winners of my annual Christmas card competition, and marked 110 years of the Women’s Institute with a commemorative tree.

I have urged the Government to adopt the review mechanism set out in my amendment to the Sentencing Bill, establishing a statutory process to review convictions. This would ensure that individuals still imprisoned under legal tests now deemed flawed have true access to justice.

This morning I attended a service for #ArmisticeDay2025 at the Recording Angel Monument in Parliament.

It is so important that we remember those who served and died for our freedom, those who live with trauma and injury from their service, and reflect on how we can seek peace.

Really special to come together with colleagues from all sides to mark 75 years since the Commons Chamber was rebuilt after bomb damage in WWII. Moments like these remind us of the history we’re part of and I'm proud to play a small role.

A very moving Borough Service of Remembrance today held at Holy Trinity followed by a ceremony at the Castle Grounds. Honoured to lay a wreath at Guildford’s New Memorial in remembrance of all those who have served and died for our safety and freedom since the Second World War. #WeWillRememberThem

At the weekend, I had the pleasure of watching Guildford Shakespeare Company latest production - Frankenstein. Wow! It was incredible.

It’s not too late to go and see it last performance is Saturday evening - I thoroughly recommend it.

On behalf of myself and the people of Guildford constituency I have placed a cross in Speaker's Garden of Remembrance. We must never forget all those who serve at home and abroad to keep us safe and secure. I've named the Women's Royal Army Corp who were based at Stoughton Barracks in my dedication.

It's bonfire night this evening, a much loved annual tradition for many of us, but fireworks can be distressing for our pets. Pets at Home have shared some important pet welfare tips to help keep their furry friends calm and stress-free.

Delighted to visit the newly refurbished Yvonne Arnaud Theatre to see the virtually completed space, including the impressive new education and engagement area, the refreshed bar and café, and to meet with Joanna Read, the Director and Chief Executive.

Beauty and personal care businesses contribute an impressive £30.4 billion to the UK economy.

I was delighted to visit Margaret Dabbs London's Guildford clinic as part of #BritishBeautyWeek2025 to meet the team and learn more about their valuable contribution to our local high street.
