Any character encoding experts in? I have some programming examples on my website that use Unicode characters - any ideas why they appear correctly when loaded into Basthon, e.g. console.basthon.fr?from=https:/..., but not in the browser, e.g. advanced-ict.info/programming/...?

I'm told they have lifted the cap on students only taking one AAQ - is that correct?
It appears that the existing BTEC IT / Computing Certificate, Extended Certificate & Foundation Diploma are being defunded from September (first teaching 2025). Diploma and Extended Diploma have another year of funding. Equivalent true for Cambridge.

It's not "binary code", it's just binary, and I'm teaching "programming" rather than "coding".
PS. A kilobyte has been 1000 bytes for more than 25 years, now - although I didn't discover that until about ten years ago as it didn't make the news.

Great thread for data visualisation (e.g. for the new Cambridge Advanced National AAQ in Data Analytics!).
I teach a class on data science here at Illinois and during the seminar I host a competition for the class called "The Hunt for the Worst Data Visualization."

This was my most popular post on Xitter, so reproducing some of the best submissions from previous years here:

How do you make sure that the likes of Scratch and Physical Computing is worthwhile in laying foundations for textual programming?

I often find learners remember ‘making a game’ or ‘making the robot move’ but don’t learn about sequencing, iteration, selection etc.
