I think being pretentious is a necessity in this world How are you supposed to go to the art museum or watch a film without being slightly pretentious I genuinely think that you need to be slightly annoying and care too much to really see the beauty in the arts and architecture around us Like pretentious really to me means you care too much about art and isn't that something we should strive for. I don't think that the view that "anything can be good art" means pretention is bad, if anything that shows how much you care about it
