Understood. And I certainly don’t intend to diminish the experience of abuse victims. But in fairness, not all claims are equally valid… and often we can never know which are legit and which are agenda driven. I happen to feel Franken - not a complete innocent - was on the wrong side of an agenda.

Just as a replacement for AOC could be highly effective and successful - but not able to duplicate her charisma and ability to shape the conversation, Smith is no substitute for Franken. But she’s announced her retirement anyway.

Franken was highly effective and successful… and it was his “noise” during a Senate hearing, you’ll recall, that forced AG Jeff Sessions to recuse himself from the trump investigations.

I’m afraid I don’t agree about Newsom and Harris. They’re not my cup of tea, but have each been effective in their own way. Hopefully there’s room for both moderates and progressives in the battle against maga. There’s no need for a circular firing squad for maga to watch and cheer.

As I recall, this was the typical pattern of late-comers, mostly anonymous, with claims of adolescent level misbehavior. My point about Gillibrand is that she skewered Franken immediately after that silly photo appeared, well before the other claims, in a calculated attempt at heightened relevance.
