Same. I've been streaming for awhile and it's mostly bots, but sometimes people come in to lurk and it's nice having the company.

I really miss old DA back from 2007-2008, it felt like peak then for community and everyone just having fun learning alongside eachother.

Haven't painted human characters much at all.

I have a few things I want to keep in mind for next time, but rather happy with how this turned out

Thank you so much! Subtle colors are great to work with, but there's just something so fun and punchy when going for strong color palettes. It definitely was fighting me for clarity, but I learned a lot xD

Thank you so much! This is the first time I've really feel like the styling is what I want out of things. It's genuinely so fun to problem solve what works best for dynamics in these compositions, and then it all just snaps in place

Because I still like this version, here's the first pass of line work and flats before things got adjusted to where they ended up. Half considering this as a commission option that could be more affordable.

Once their design was a bit more set, then did some color tests - I'm definitely using some of these for other characters. It was a bit harder making a decision, but I'm a big sucker for purple and orange.

Spent some time trying out new ideas, and just messing with their current shape language to see what I wanted to keep and what I wanted to get rid of. Originally their waist piece was going to be removed, but it just fit their design too well when testing.

Originally their concept started with just the flame head in mind, but I really liked the idea and was curious how I could push it a bit further
