all in an effort to create vendor lock in for organization on a cloud service with nearly no MarketShare supported by a company with less that 400 employees. Talking to next fanboys is like being gaslit they just have no idea how bad it is.

They've locked entire organizations into an infrastructure opinionated platform running on one of the slowest web server solutions available with poorly supported and extremely insecure proprietary dependency packages that do not align with any of standard. They are an anti-patter as a service

still blows my mind that Vercel was so able to effectively scam an entire generation of bootcamp devs into adopting next. Their business strategy feel like it should be illegal.

you likely can't though even though it has that much space you won't have that much usable space for the application you'll really only have 8kb

This wasn't just a proposal this is the Kodak calendar which they actually used as a company internally.

Does anyone still do this? I haven't done this since the 2000's. We use long established naming patterns. I think this got especially killed by cloud providers who put those conventions in their training. Naming servers is a lost art.

I was once banned for being a Chinese bot on reddit merely because I was providing a historically accurate description of the Japanese actions during the first and second Sino-Japanese war. This is the problem I don't think your moderators are as good at telling the different as they think they are.

What are some specific tools that mitigate bot traffic? I will say that bsky has the same financial motivations as reddit to avoid limiting bots on the site (as they charge for the API) and I imagine it will experience the same problems as its popularity rises.

Reddit is a dead husk of its former self. Most of its traffic is non human actors programmed with nefarious purpose. There really is no choice but to find a more human friendly platform.

I just got finished making a cool little attribute that ensures that that property has a unique index in mongo...only problem is it would not work because you can apply a unique index to a collection that already has entities in it. ugh.
