Zee-Zee the squirrel is wearing a pink shirt with a smiley face on it, and orange shorts, with a noticeably darker orange spot on the front, which he's pulling the bottom of his shirt down to try to hide. He whispers so that nobody but the grown-ups can hear "I had an accident..."

4 is the ultimate big-kid age! ^.^
Tavi and Zee-Zee have cool new shirts, with the number 4 on them! And once the grown-ups had told them what it was, the two-year-old toddlers decided to spend the day being big grown-up four-year-old kids! So with grown-up long pants (elasticated waists in case they need to be pulled down in a hurry) and the cool shirts, the 'big kids' are running wildly around the place proclaiming to everyone that they're four! They're not completely certain what four-year-olds do, but they're quite certain it's a good reason not to do anything babyish the grown-ups ask - take a nap? No, we're four! Try not to make so much noise? We're four! Try to use the potty? Four!

Ray the flying squirrel is younger than Sonic and his big buddy Mighty, and sometimes struggles to keep up with them. He had his own potty-training adventure not too long ago, and only recently stopped wearing pull-ups at the Green Hill Playschool. One day, Vanilla the rabbit looked down to see Mighty the armadillo looking up at her and politely saying "Ms Vanilla? Ray didn't get to the toilet in time." He was holding the hand of a tearful little Ray, who was looking down at his wet shorts and carefully pulling the bottom of his shirt away from the spreading damp patch. She patted both their heads, told Mighty he's a good boy for helping his friend, and reminded Ray that accidents happen and there's no need to cry, while she found him a new pair of shorts and big-boy pants. ^.^

This is MITTS (which stands for Man In The Thick Suit). My brother bought him for 5p at a jumble sale, and he became the central heroic figure in the adventures we created with all our toys. He's the greatest relic of my childhood. ^.^
An action figure from the early 1980s, "Fisher Price Adventure People" set number 358, Deep Sea Diver. The toy originally had a deep sea diving helmet and came with other accessories, but they were lost by the time we acquired the figure second-hand. The size and design of a Star Wars figure, jointed at shoulders and hips, but with a more distinct and moveable neck joining the head to the body. He's wearing a thick diving suit, which used to be white - the torso has photodegraded badly over the years and turned yellow. The head (not intended to be seen clearly under the helmet) is reused from the "Northwoods Trailblazer" figure in the same range. It's wearing a red woolly hat and has a distinctly hangdog expression.

Theodore, Alvin and Simon are all in their jammies, sitting on Alvin's bed, with Dave sitting and assuring them he's never going to leave them. And ruffling Simon's hair to make sure he's included (and make my heart melt) even though Simon's not the type to express his worry in words and Theodore and Alvin are much more openly demanding of Dave's attention. Dave is a role model for us all!

Behold the big squirrel! So big, he doesn't need diapers any more! He knows how to go to the potty all by himself, and he gets there in time nearly most of the time always! ^.^
Zee-Zee is smaller than a grown-up squirrel, but he shows just how big he is by standing next to baby Gem! (And sneakily squishing her ears down a bit with his tail, to make sure she looks quite a lot shorter than him)

Eleanor is little and super tough, and she has a tiny baby incarnation (in "Little Alvin and the Mini-Munks") where she's the youngest who can't talk or walk or get into misadventures with the bigger chipmunks yet. ^.^
Eleanor the tiny chipmunk is fencing against a human in the national championships. And winning. Eleanor proudly holds up a trophy. Eleanor is also great at archery. "Why is this news?" she asks Simon when he's surprised. "How does no one know this about me?!" Baby chipmunk puppet Eleanor is being fed a bottle by Lalu (Janice Karman)

I was thinking of redrawing these old comics... but I still quite like the way this one looks. ^.^
Ultrafox and Kitty are two brothers, seven-year-old Matthew and five-year-old Jamie. They're both foxes. Jamie thinks "Kitty" is a stupid name for a fox superhero sidekick, but Matthew thinks it's clever and cool and won't let him change it.

Half a page of Order of the Stick. After a discussion about ways to remove permanent scars using the D&D rules of their universe, O-Chul the human paladin says he prefers to keep his, to remind him of the adversity he's overcome. Minrah the dwarf cleric says she only mentioned it because some people might change their mind when they retire and look at dating, but O-Chul says he has no interest in such things. Sunny the Beholder (big orange ball with one giant eye and lots of little eyes on stalks) comes flying over with excitement to ask "Wait, are you asexual? Me too!" O-Chul supposes he is, if you want to put it that way, but Sunny goes on to ask whether O-Chul reproduces by parthenogenesis, budding or mitosis. O-Chul gives one of his classic speeches in reply. "No. How do I put this? I reproduce by living my life in such a way that my deeds might inspire others and my ideals may take root in their hearts. Thus, when I am gone, there will still be those who are my descendants. At least in the way that matters to me." Sunny takes this to mean O-Chul is like spores.

Brittany the princess, Alvin the pirate, Eleanor the skeleton, Simon the wizard, Jeanette the witch and Theodore the panda are at your door with bags for the candy they're going to get! In a dark, spooky house, Simon quickly throws off the mask of his Chuckie [the scary doll, not the Rugrat] costume and apologises for scaring everyone.

This episode is totally my childhood played out in cartoon form and starring Simon. His best friend has ditched him to hang out with Alvin instead, and Simon said he was busy with a cool other friend, but now they've unexpectedly arrived and Simon needs to hide! ^.^
Simon is looking out of the chipmunks' bedroom window with a horrified expression and his little paws clutched in panic below his chin.
