I'm at a stage where even adapting classics sounds like a pointless endeavours unless you go really bold with it.

I think I'm only interested in adaptations of any kind if I didn't read the source material and have no plans to do so.

I like isograph technical pens like those from Rotring or Aristo for their crispy and richly black lines (at the smallest sizes) but they are expensive and tend to jam a lot, so generally I use sakuras. I prefer brush when I need precision and subtlety, pens for quicker application and textures

Next up are the impossibly cool @crom-ink.bsky.social and @zeburnay.bsky.social. This is the second time I’ve bought those stickers but when they’re that cool, you want to stick them on everything. I couldn’t pass up Ze’s cassette either.

For sure, I guess for me it's more about leading those ideas and aims with your gut, not your brain.

Like doing it after the fact is bad enough, but doing it before you actually do the work just feels all kinds of wrong. Can you imagine any great piece of art being preceded by the artist stating something along the lines of,
" this piece aims to X y or z"

Like, imagine David Lynch applying for a grant and being forced to answer about the aims of Twin Peaks
