I don't know why but "incredibly prolific" struck me as a bit of a back-handed compliment. I mean, it doesn't actually say whether his writing is any good, just that there's a lot of it!

For the record, he is also rather good as well as prolific!

What's a surplus book? That can't be a thing.

I run with my boy as well, but only the Junior Parkrun so far. As for the bookclub, I've been reading him the Lord of the Rings as a bedtime story for nearly a year so the indoctrination has begun!
Love the idea of the "running book club", but I'm too out breath to talk while running!

Are we on the verge of discovering an extremely niche community of classic science fiction loving long distance runners? There must be dozens of us! Dozens!

I ran my first half marathon a couple of weeks back. Am desperate to get up to longer distances, but picked up a couple of niggles (from lack of proper training) so have been on a break to recover.
200 miles is crazy. Good luck!

Don't forget the irony of how much money ChatGPT is burning every day. It's designed to make AI investors rich and it's not even doing that!

Also, if this has already been announced, why didn't anyone tell me? Like, they should personally have called me and told me. This is important.

Following you on Bluesky is going to be one of the most expensive decisions I've ever made.

I was disappointed with the book of Conclave. I kept waiting for something not-obvious to happen but very slowly the very telegraphed thing happened. It wasn't bad, just a bit 'meh'.

I saw the app! I'm excited to try it, although I am also currently picturing my wife's face when I ask her to look after the kids without me so I can spend a day scanning my books...
