Husband, father. Nuclear energy professional 🇨🇦; project manager / regulatory. Nerds out on nature and bad (read: good) martial arts movies. I like moss and I pick up rocks and bring them home. All photos mine unless I note otherwise.
Good luck in your search. I scanned here but did not see it: nanps.org/nanps-seed-e...

For further learning, I really enjoyed and would recommend “Crazy Horse: Strange Man of the Oglalas” by Mari Sandoz. A non-Indigenous writer, but she interviewed many of the elders of that period back in the 30’s. Red Cloud was a brilliant war leader and of course features prominently in the book.

I think the U.S. Coast Guard (and I’m giving a LOT of rope here, lol) can interdict any vessel in international waters that they have reasonable suspicion is carrying drugs… but they need to search it and release it if nothing is found. Worried that’s not what will happen though.

Not to mention shuttering an entire industry of high value professional technical and trades jobs. An industry that actually fights climate change. It was really mind boggling to me.

Yes .. and the sunk cost fallacy is really referring to projects, and when to decide to stop putting good money after bad. But these were established, well operating assets and speaking as an engineer I think it was a travesty to shut down will running assets before the end of their useful life.

Nuclear in Germany was most certainly not shut down because it was too expensive. Germany had already sunk in the high cost of constructing plants - well run plants. Nuclear has some of the lowest operating costs. It was an ideological decision, and unfortunate. And, nothing to do with Chernobyl.

Grifters work all angles.. so some drug smugglers get freed, and others get an air strike. So it’s not a double standard, but in fact 1 standard: what benefits the grifter goes.

I’ve seen coyotes in our neighbourhood feed on a kill right where they killed it, even in the open in front yards. So I think, not necessarily

For sure.. I also wonder if that could be a Canada goose with wing extended up. The bulk below it is about the right size.

That’s fascinating, thank you!

Very similar in Markham this morning, with that vertical rainbow-esque light. Does anytime know if there’s a term for that?

Those seem to fairly scream “do not eat me” 😅

Good morning from Maarkham (wait no, Markham)

Is this actually accurate? I think with big outboard motors and fuel drums onboard, in good weather this is possible. However even if they are drug runners, they need to be interdicted by police/coast guard and not extra-judicially executed. This is the point.

All of these comments about Hegseth being prosecuted for war crimes are soothing, because he should be, but let’s be real. Has any high level American official ever been charged with war crimes from Nicaragua to Iraq? Look at Cheney who lived a long free life, he was responsible for 400-600k deaths.

I get it but, I think, if the reporters fight back in the moment on the personal insults they make an error in *becoming* the news. They are doing their professional job by simply asking questions and reporting the answers. His reaction (like “quiet piggy”) speaks volumes, and this IS the news.

Normally I enjoy your posts but I cringed at this one. It denigrates Indigenous culture and turns sacred regalia into a costume/meme. It’s not too late to take this one down.
