And in other news, my sea-urchin cactus grew its first flower!

If you want a recommendation, I think a Sunflower yellow would go well with Sage (ignore the middle bit unless you want to go up to 3 colors)

Another kind of lower-effort post for #MathArtMarch, but I still think these swirls are beautiful. Work and D&D are kicking my butt right now, so photographs are the most effort I’m willing to put in today. Photos taken by me at the Palace of Versailles, 2022.

My Kara Kara Bizarre Blanket I completed last month ✌️
A blanket draped over a loveseat. There are plants in the background behind the loveseat. The blanket is made of solid-color heptagonal panels and multi-color hexagonal panels, joined in a regular tiling that causes the angle of each vertex to exceed 360°, giving the blanket a ruffled edge.

Day 2 of #MathArtMarch: On a Square Grid. I’m using these as excuses to learn how to use Procreate, and I used the square grid drawing guide for the first time to make this one, which is an ode to one of my favorite constructions: parabolic curves! #mathart
A series of three parabolic curves made by connecting points along two intersecting axes where the distance between points on one axis is roughly equal. The quadrilateral regions are colored in chessboard-style. The entire construction is flanked along the top-right by an arc that has had a similar construction performed on it.

I decided to take part in Day 1 of #MathArtMarch. I’ve really been feeling this color palette ever since I used it for my blanket, so I figured I’d use it again. Title is ‘Opacity’. Inspired by taking visual opacity readings for visible smoke emissions. #mathart

After 8 months of taking breaks and making sure I didn’t burn myself out, I’ve finally completed my Kara Kara Bizarre Blanket! The colors were inspired by #TotK, and the design is based on a truncated order-7 triangular tiling, making the blanket hyperbolic, so it doesn’t lie flat. #crochet 🧶
