Country Liberals skating by by being the 4th party of the Coalition

It's not the highest ratio by a long shot, but it's good to see Victoria get its first female Liberal Party leader and the potential for another two-women contest for Premier (previous editions being QLD 2020, and for Chief Minister in NT 2024 and ACT 1995)

I mean I assume it’s the psych ward, but it would be even funnier if they took them to see retired Governor Marie Bashir for a telling off

One more leader and we can lose this election!

They claim this would have some impact on Australian power prices (it wouldn’t), ask why we should do something when Donald Trump has withdrawn (it can’t happen until after his first term) & trot out the sceptics well-worn argument that one country’s efforts cannot change global warming in isolation

"But, of course, the conservative climate sceptics were still not appeased. They want Australia to withdraw from the Paris agreement or reduce our target (the one Abbott actually proposed as prime minister)."

Remember when nobody believed the 2PP numbers coming through around 7pm on election night?

Remember the Redbridge seat poll?

Absolutely ludicrous honeymoon stability here.

He cannot even successfully riff off a meme or joke. It’s truly tragic.

It’s so funny how much he wants to be a poster but he cannot post

To make myself feel better over the above stopped clock behaviour:

Abigail Boyd has in particular being super strong on focusing on worker’s rights and protections during this whole process, and I want to give her a lot of kudos for it.

Happy birthday Leo! Congratulations for now officially being on the electoral rolls!

Every single paragraph has something that it feels like her editors asked to remove at some point previously on legal advice.

(tbf the amount of material she's got to get through this week is quite a lot AND as she says, she's out of practice at study-quantities of reading. but I'm fondly mocking her over how awful having to find the time to do assessments AND readings AND work is around life)

“highlighting the decline of Australian democracy”

Surely a decline in democracy would be abolishing self-government…look why am I trying to rationalise this utter crank
November 10, 2025 at 5:31 AM
I am in love with how the Wikipedia page is implying that abolishing self government and Hare-Clark is a human-rights issue

I'm drawing a mental diagram of the overlap between this discovered set of 'many conservatives' and the Belco Party.
