You are right, yea. But it's hard to keep up the spirits and the dedication when you see how it all works on the internet. Just, how social media and competing for attention drives one mad or depressed 😞

So yea, I have lower prices, do more work, usually way faster, and have almost 0 exposition since my selection of products is small.

I just... idk... so discouraging to even attempt anymore OTL

Art is hard, and selling it is harder. I put so much effort on it and then I see stuff like this...

But I do 95% of all my commissions by hand. Every piece, every little detail. I make it all one by one, specially for every person. Even with my Y/CH, I do some "already drawn" parts, but everything else, I don't even do an "example rendered" because I will render every one of them by hand

And just... that ends with me thinking, how can I compete with that alongside all the great artists around? Why bother with even attempting to sell my mid tier art, putting all the effort on all the elements of it... I barely even use "helping" brushes and elements. At most a pattern for the back

But also, not only they do "minimal work" on it, but they also have SO MANY listed products, since they just have to go shopping for some bases and list them all in their account. And so, they are more visible, way more products to show up in random searches!

And they even take like 2-3 months to do it??? The ones I saw, agian. I assume they're all actually paying the og artist, I am not gonna think they're stealing, although it's a... hard thing to demostrate, let's say. And I assume not everyone will ask for confirmation from the og artist...

And they sell those for like, twice as much as I'd sell my Y*CH. I mean, yes, it's a full on background, rendering, etc. BUT, the original person probably wins 1/4 of that. These people are gettint 3/4 extra and they (to what I saw) are doing minimal changes to it???

And they just change the eye colour, hair colour, probably skin colour... not even the expression, it's the ones that are there. If you want another outfit, it's extra pay! And some I even saw saying "if your character has long hair, I'll make it a bun sorry" just because the base had that already
