My style does have proportionally large hands to allow for some detail work with hand gestures. But on second look this one does have a consistency issue with her sword hand size. It's a bit bigger than it should be. I'll make those adjustments. Thanks for pointing it out!

it's very vibes based. I sometimes put limbs on the same layer just to be able to edit quickly, othertimes if the limbs are going behind other parts of the body, I keep them on seperate layers

I usually make the key frames first to get an idea of the primary poses I want to hit, but I already had the ending pose done from a previous animation, so a straight-ahead worked better in this case

Fwiw, once I get going I inevitably fall into the groove of things. Ultimately it's kind of a "zen" state to be plugging away at whatever I'm making. It feels fine once I'm in there, but maybe not being in that state all the time is not a good thing lmao. I'm still working on balance with spare time

In my particular case, my animation work is on top of a more standard 9-5 job. There are definitely some days where I'm done with work and I'm fizzling out but in spite of that, the irrational feeling is still there. "You haven't posted anything in weeks"
June 11, 2025 at 8:34 PM
the feeling abates for a good week or two after I finish making something where I feel free from that particular mind shackle, but eventually I start feeling like "I should be working on a new animation" And I gotta swat that back when I do equally important stuff like hang out with friends

I feel you. On one hand, animating feels very fufilling and I have a feeling of "yes this is a passion I want to follow" but on the other hand, the times that I'm not working on something makes me feel... uncomfortable. And it's a feeling that blankets a lot of regular daily life.
