I did try highlighting the armour, and I think I achieved it somewhat. I tried to use Nuln Oil to pick out the detail on the back of the cloak, but only managed to get it dirty. So I painted over and used orange for the symbol instead.

I really wish, though, that I could use some Reaper paints. They're what I used long ago. *Sigh* but I'd have to order those, and the shipping fees and customs duties would be murder unless I bought a ton of them.

Zumikiko and Squidmar do recommend AK Interactive, but I'd have to go downtown for those. If I grow unhappy with Vallejo, I'll try them along with Proacryl.

I did pick up some washes, Nuln Oil and Agrax Earthshade. Apparently they're voodoo magic? We'll see.

Citadel was out. I remember pots from 30 years ago, I can't believe Citadel stuck with them. And the price was higher for less paint. And people online seemed 'meh' about its quality.

I did some research online and Vallejo seemed the logical choice. Highly rated by nearly everyone. Proacryl was also recommended, but I preferred the more compact and larger range of Vallejo.

I really want to learn layering and glazing though.

The triangle based toad was done with base coating, a wash, some dry brushing and then detailing - which is how I learned ages ago.

There's so much information online about mono painting now, it's hard to decide how to start. Dry or wet palette? Mediums or thin with water? And so many techniques. Layering, glazing, wet blending, feathering...

When mixed with water and sugar it transforms from a transparent green to an opalescent drink. It was very popular in France one time where it was called la fee verte (the green fairy) because of its supposed power to enchant.
