We are on Native land. They/Them. Cat lover. Crafter. Folk and courtly dancer. Navigating ADHD. Disabled. Pursuing a Bachelor’s of Social Work. House witch. Mostly an indoor cat.
No fair, I am applying for help on the tidying up front. 😭 My cat ate my plants (literally all of my spider plants were chewed to nubs faster than they could respawn!) so at least that is one area I don’t have to clean up?

I wait til the end, in case I decide to frog a section.

Happy to help clarify a bit. One of my moms is a potter, but I never could get the clay to talk to me like she could. Biggest thing I ever threw was the size of a ramekin! 😅 She used to make mugs, but is rebranding, or I’d send you to her website. May you find your perfect giant mug!

Bigger is also moderately more likely to collapse, & requires more supplies, which increases the price. Maybe reach out to your favorite mug maker with this request, so they know it will be sold? I know I tend to prefer the smaller mugs for my small hands & small capacity.

Anyway, looking forward to getting back to crochet again, & making some useable items. My WIP is a set of convertible fingerless mittens in green wool & brown hand spun alpaca. First hand warmers & first color work (though I’m not 100% confident on the color choices, they won’t contrast well).

So now we’re using “industrial strength” adhesive backed Velcro & I’m whip-stitching the edges down. I’ve made one blood sacrifice (stabbed myself) & wrecked a needle pushing it through Velcro, glue, & partially through the vinyl. Thank goodness for my hemostat, or I might have wrecked another!

Okay! So it looks like the diagram is indicating that the waistband length will be twice the the sum of those sections. In a math equation, they might be a, b, c, and d instead of the shapes: 2(a+b+c+d) = waistband length. This makes the shapes a tool more for drafting the waistband than the panels.

Have a pencil and paper on hand, and rest your crochet when you need to write, or just doodle while you listen and take notes. You got this!

Oh oh! I found another gosurori magazine on the internet archive, and it looks like those are just labels, like here:

After trying and failing to do a regular google search for this markings, this is what an image search turned up. I don’t know if it will help at all, but maybe it will give you an idea of where to look for more information in the pattern instructions. Good luck!

Is there no legend in the instructions?

You can also choose to just commission the resin or silicone bits, which is pretty common as far as I could tell from my roomie’s work. Lots of folks aren’t set up for that kind of work, since it requires plastics, heat, ventilation, and setting time. Good luck!

Do it! It will be more than sewing, FYI. Lots of fursuits include resin/silicone casting, & foam sculpting. There’s some amount of engineering involved, & you will want to figure out how to keep yourself cool. My freshman college roomie was a fursuit maker, & kept soft-mount coyotes as references.
