So no, I don't think your art isn't "good" enough to be considered AI.

It's just unequivocally you, and a clear enough art style that people know a person made it. Not a machine taking a median art style from several hundreds or thousands of stolen art works. (8/8)

It's debatable whether or not Shad is the type of person who would have actually ever tried to improve on aspects he didn't like or just give up and continue insisting he was the best. But I'd like to think people will try to improve given enough time.

But he was so obsessed with being "good" that he deflected criticism that was trying to help him improve, and then would corner himself, insisting that there was nothing wrong with his art despite him clearly not being satisfied with it.

Now, I don't feel bad for Shad (you can look up his numerous opinions) but the whole arc of him trying to learn how to draw, giving up, then deferring to AI for the art he wanted to make is disappointing.

He wasn't the best at drawing, but he gave it a shot, and I couldn't do better. (5/?)

To be clear, there's no such thing as an illegitimate art style, and even if it wasn't my favourite, people still put work and effort into crafting that.

So it's deeply unfortunate that AI managed to kill a lot of that style. I think shadiversity and AI is an illustrative example of this (4/?)

People still needed to make that stuff, and it was stolen all the time because people usually associate realism in an art style with being "objectively" better.

Like, remember how there would always be a poster vendor at conventions that had a variety of unaccredited art, but most of it fell under the umbrella of "highly detailed" with semi realistic faces? The type of stuff you'd see in a scam advertising on the side of a pirated anime website? (2/?)

I feel like that says more about the type of art styles that AI has become known for copying than it does about the "quality" of your own work.

The first things that come to mind for me that AI art took over are hyper realistic fantasy and comic drawings that were really popular for a while (1/?)
