Early morning round for the long tailed tits as they visited the resident tit families in numbers. Oh ... and the food. Always a delight to see.

A Great Tit on the peanut feeder near the window with the Bluetits flitting very actively in the background. A gloomy grey sky above but their colours and activity bring life to the day.

The bluetits and great tits flitting about on a breezy, dry morning. Other birds scarce recently, maybe to avoid the Sparrowhawk seen more frequently flying by, agile, fast and low.

The robin again in its current favourite perch on the ivy trellis planter next to the feeders. Today welcoming a very dark, gloomy day.

I love that picture you created this morn, Hannah.
For me, a great tit feeding on the peanuts during an interlude in the rain.

A pair of longtail tits on the telecoms wire taking a break and perusing the lack of activity in the garden below, soon joined by another pair. Then the resident tit families came out as it began to fair, so they joined them all about the feeders in growing numbers.

Likewise, a group of tree sparrows perched in the now skeletal hawthorn, pondering as they take in the view of their wet world. A familiar and welcome sight, signalling that Winter is truly here.

A solitary bluetit venturing out on a frozen morn to sample the seed in a replenished feeder. But the sun is venturing out, too, so maybe water troughs and the gated garden pond will thaw somewhat today.

Five or six buzzards circling in and out of low lying cloud after early snow. Across the Vale of York the N.Yorkshire Moors and Howardian Hills are still showing a covering.
