I'm THRILLED to be here and can't wait to be a part of the smart, funny, thought-provoking, and, above all, supportive online watering hole we used to have. I hope you'll consider following for more 🫡

I've been freelancing since I got laid off in January (boo), but have continued reporting on niche cultures and communities, including Asian American drag artists and Gen Z singles turning to matchmaking.

Most recently, I wrote about a polyamorous dating show for Gothamist!
A night at ‘Poly Poly Oxen Free,’ Brooklyn’s new polyamorous dating show
“We’re bringing you the hottest, most emotionally stable poly people in Brooklyn,” said the event’s host.

I especially LOVE culture stories and explored those in my sub-beat of entertainment and media. It was an absolute joy speaking with the legendary James Hong when "Everything Everywhere All At Once" premiered:
James Hong has acted in over 650 roles including in 'Everything Everywhere All At Once.' At 93, he's still shattering records.
As one of the most prolific actors in Hollywood history, James Hong has paved the way for Asian American talent in film and television.

I also covered policy issues and their impact on marginalized communities, whether it was the dismantling of race-based affirmative action or Title IX's legacy:
50 years since Title IX was enacted, survivors of sexual assault say the law failed to protect them
Title IX was enacted 50 years ago to protect students from sexual violence. But some survivors of color say they face heightened barriers and bias.

One of the projects I'm proudest of is a three-part series on what it was like to grow up in the cult-like Unification Church — from mass weddings at Madison Square Garden to purity rituals — and what it took to leave it:
From mass weddings to sex rituals, life inside the controversial Unification Church
Grappling with the feeling that they lived double lives, people born into the church tell Insider what it was like to escape and forge new identities for themselves.
