I mentioned it many times, but her whole quest is to get her revenge on her master, who betrayed their guild and sold them all to Lolth worshippers back in the days, Aerin managed to survive out of luck. It's her only and biggest scar, the reason why she never trusts anyone.

For context: in the D&D campaign I played with her she was literally the only one in the party with good perception, everybody else was SO DUMB (and unlucky with rolls lol), it was so fun to have her roll her eyes every second cause the others didn't notice a fucking RUG beneath their feet.
