this, of course, is probably something i should pay someone real money for, which i don't have, so the only other solution is to get enough confidence in my ideas by myself so that i can work on them without feeling bad. how do i do that

unless im thinking of the wrong thing, they did actually add most of those story additions back into vanilla ds2, so at this point the difference really is just different item placements (fine, some even better) and different enemy placements (horrendous)

i always loved ds2 but i was always like 'yeah... i can see why people dont like it' and then i played vanilla again for the first time in 10 years and i realized the game really was just 100% excellent, they just shat all over it with sotfs

its like releasing a hard mode mod that exchanges thoughtful enemy placement for 'what if there was so many, good luck fucker' hordes every 2 minutes, then making that *the default version of the game*. genuinely what was wrong with them
