✦ I'm making pearlessential!

It's an isometric, JRPG-inspired, exploration game. All about a rather peculiar exam.

Ah I think Final Fantasy Tactics does something similar to that? My system unfortunately lacks it though 😅

(In order to get multiple consecutive turns in my game, you have to use a skill or item with a specific effect)

Turn order was super tricky for me haha. Nice job getting it going!

If only I took the time to actually listen to tutorials instead of skimming them 😅

My first mistake was only using a single channel (red) and my second was sampling a b/w texture.

I'm so confused as to how this works 😭 I thought I finally got a handle on these things

Neat! Are you planning to have the mounts give any cool/unique benefits?

Happy #TurnBasedThursday! I'm a little late to the party... Thanks for hosting!

pearlessential is an isometric #JRPG with no levels or experience points!? I've been working on environments lately.

I need to get started on a GOG page for it haha 😅

Are the animations done in-engine? Or did you create them with a program like Spline/Live2D?

I really want to make this jump...

I need to look into dependency inversion, this is my first time hearing about it! But yes, our setups do sound similar, although you've named your stuff much better than I have haha

Now that I've described it, I kinda wish the two components were one in the same so I could daisy chain them into each other 😅

My system revolves around two components called "Input" and "Endpoint". Input holds a bool and emits a signal when it changes using a setter. Endpoint subscribes to Input signals and decides its own state given the state of its subscribed Inputs. I only calculate state on value changes.
