The rate of civilian harm in Israeli strikes remains unprecedented.
In Trump's bombing campaign earlier this year the average was 2.07 civilian casualties per strike. In seven years of Saudi-led air raids the rate was 0.76.
In September, the average surged to over 32 civilian casualties per strike.

Average rate of civilian harm in Israeli strikes remains unprecedented in 10+yrs of data collection. August average was over 23 civilian casualties per strike.

We recorded 102 civilian casualties in two strikes on 24 Aug: a strike on a YPC fuel station creating a massive fire ball and a further strike on Hizyaz power station. The two incidents killed 10 civilians, injured 92. Israel has bombed Hizyaz power station six times in 9 months.

recorded 116 civilian casualties in five Israeli strikes in August - the highest monthly rate of civilian harm since April’s 7-yr-high during the US bombing campaign. 22 civilians recorded killed in August, 94 injured.

The outlier remains Israel. In 32 Israeli strikes in Yemen since July the average rate of civilian harm is >9 casualties per air raid. 12 Israeli strikes in May focused on civilian infrastructure resulting in 75 civilian casualties + destruction of all civilian passenger jets operating from Sanaa.

The average rate of civilian harm in US strikes was on par with the Saudi-led bombing of Yemen 10 years ago. The average rate of civilian casualties in the first 53 days of Saudi's air was was 2.8 per strike. The average rate in US strikes was similarly just over 2 civilian casualties per strike.

A May ceasefire ended the most intense and deadly bombing in Yemen since the peak of Saudi's air war. In 53 days the US killed at least 238 civilians compared to a year of Biden-era strikes that killed 21 civilians - a death toll matched by Trump's air war in first 48hrs mailchi.mp/674567bfa83a...?

This week, civilians casualties reached 500 in Trump's bombing campaign in Yemen. The number of civilian casualties in U.S. Operation Rough Rider more than doubled in seven days from 16-22 April. At least 95 civilians were killed and 192 injured in the week.

48 civilian casualties were recorded in 34 US strikes from 1 to 7 April, including killing of 3 children in a strike on a house belonging to a Houthi-affiliated tribal figure

Strikes took place every night from 15 to 31 March.
46.3% hit civilian objects. Almost a quarter (22%) hit residential areas.
Civilian harm rates are 3.5x higher under Trump’s bombing campaign compared to US-UK strikes under Biden, with an average civilian harm rate higher than the Saudi-led air war

March data is out:

More civilians were killed in 17 days of US strikes in March than in a year of bombings under Biden. At least 28 civilians killed and 66 injured in 97 US strikes from 15 to 31 March, in the worst month for civilian harm in air dropped bombs since the Saudi air war in Jan. 2022

One week of US strikes in Yemen under the Trump administration killed at least 25 civilians, including 4 children. 55% of strikes hit civilian sites. Targets bombed included: medical storage facility, medical centre, school, wedding hall, residential areas & Bedouin tents

January was also the one-year anniversary of the US-UK bombing campaign in Yemen.
305 US-UK strikes deploying up to 638 munitions have been carried out in the first 12 months of Operation Poseidon Archer, an average of more than 25 strikes per month resulting in 85 civilian casualties.

To the end of December the average rate of civilian harm in Israeli air raids in Yemen stands at 13.25 civilian casualties per air raid, almost 5x higher than the worst monthly rate in the Saudi-led air war.
In 2024: 247 civilians were injured in US-UK & Israeli strikes, 50 civilians were killed.

Israel is exclusively targeting civilian infrastructure, resulting in a rate of civilian harm incomparable with other actors carrying out strikes in Yemen.
