I'm going to Greece next week, for a wedding, and the NASA agency-wide all hands is happening on the same day I fly out of the country. I won't be able to attend, I'll be on a train out of town 🙈 I hope everyone understands I need a vacation as much as anybody does rn and I'm not canceling anything!

The first and last time I planned a major vacation in my whole career, the company got shuttered before I got to take it. I went to Keewenaw anyway. (And when I got back from that vacation, my contract at the next job was not renewed.) I'm beginning to think it's me, and I shouldn't take vacations.

I am lucky that I don't have to worry about losing my house or where my next meal is going to come from. I don't want to make this about me, I'll be OK. If people are feeling not OK, I am here and I'm full of empathy, anyone who wants to talk please feel free reach out to me! I'm here and I'm sorry.

Where is this happening?

Someone told me to calm down and let it go the other day in a thread where I thought I was being excessively thorough but also hinged. They were sure I was actually unhinged. I had to admit I've been through some shit and it's bubbling out. I think we're all a little more than a bit not ok right now

I'm sure it's nice once you get to know it, lol I think I understand... sort of...

I am baffled by the space bar(s) apparently surrounding the entire keyboard and the non-standard location of all the symbol keys

First and only time I ever ran fsck -fccky - it did map around bad sectors, but within a couple of days there were more new bad sectors. It was really odd this didn't prevent Kubernetes from doing its thing. The only outward symptom was flux source controller "fsnotify watcher: too many open files"

It was the only control plane node in the cluster so I was shook when I found out. Spent the next 4 weeks of my live stream tearing my hair out tryna figure "how am I gonna migrate my production workloads away from this failing disk if I can't copy files?!" - legend has it that node is still running

I had an NVMe drive in my home lab cluster that I didn't realize was failing until my node rebooted one day and it was running Windows. Turned out some initrd failure, nothing to do with the bad drive. I only noticed reading in dmesg, and backups via rsync failed immediately. K8s was like "meh" ...

We already had Heroku for Kube, it was called Deis Workflow until it was remade as Hephy Workflow. Everyone that used it loved it, but "it wasn't made here" so it twined on the vine, until K8s breaking changes grew past the critical mass, now it has basically succumbed to the bitrot entropy monster.

The semver spec explicitly says that the zero major version indicates that any minor release can include breaking changes. So yeah, that's 100% correct. v1 in SemVer signifies "GA" - I'm interested in how many value you get out of changing to BreakVer! Sounds like a positive change to me!

I also regret that I didn't get on here sooner, but it's good to see you here!
