I'd actually argue the opposite honestly because 10 years ago more people were out shooting with these instead.

Here's my contribution to tonight's Aurora photos. I missed the peak so I didn't get much of the reds at all and had to settle for heavily edited photos that pulled out the fading green glows instead.

Pro Tip: Don't use the font that the lower case "k" and "b" look identical when using the word "Book"

Ordered the "Chipotle style" Burrito at the local tex mex place (Which is normally known for smothered fork and knife tex mex style food) and holy crap the thing is massive. And comes with fries just in case. Its basically the size of 2 "fast food burrito bar" burritos O.O

A friend got me into Star Citizen and I've been hooked. It gets a bad rap as a "Microtransaction Scam Game full of griefers" but I've only ran into trolls a few times. I mostly do Cargo runs as a relaxing way to channel my inner space trucker till the docking bay doors suddenly close as I'm landing

Canon 90D SOOC Challenge (Week 2 of June 2025): This camera was bought to be a primary wildlife for its high resolution sensor, 1.6x crop factor, fast burst speed and really fast Autofocus. But since I've been doing a lot of traveling this last week the 100-400 stayed at Home.

Canon 90D SOOC Challenge (Week 1 of June 2025): Earlier this year I stumbled upon a Canon 90D for sale at 1/2 the price they usually go for as it was missing a button (its fully functional to work around due to the touch screen) its now one of my favorite cameras in my collection

I'm at a job site and in a bit of a pickle. The company we are detangling our IT equipment from has this ancient router with a SCSI cable on it that must be superglued to the port. Does anyone know how to get this bloody cable off? Even after removing the screws holding it on it wont budge at all

Stopped on my way to in person D&D to take some photos of the Hispanic Heritage sculpture exhibit on Raspberry island inside Harriet Island Regional park today. Very cool little exhibit and very colorful. Camera used: Canon 90D / Canon 24-105 F4 L

FujiFilm X-E1 SOOC Challenge (week 5 of May 2025) Prior week should have been wk 4, but since I can't edit it oh well. Overall the Fuji XE-1 is a fun camera with a retro letting me experiment with Fuji without devoting myself to it. I'll stick to Nikon, Canon and Micro 43rds as my primary systems.

FujiFilm X-E1 SOOC Challenge (week 3 of May 2025) The biggest challenge with getting good photos with this camera is its very hit or miss and slow as molasses AFsystem, it seems to be the most prevalent on the 55-200 lens. It will also take a photo being just a smidge out of focus often.

Local honey farm is going to come over and take a look so fingers crossed. But it looks like they are getting in through a hole in a rotted door frame and may be in the siding

FujiFilm X-E1 SOOC Challenge (week 2 of May 2025) The flowers are really starting to pop out this week which was the big reason I chose this camera this month. Everything got green almost overnight. Having only 200mm on the longest lens with hit or miss AF makes Nature Photography a challenge
