Blocked the rananculus swatch and have come to the conclusion that I am not going to block the finished piece very much at all - it was about the right height and only 1 stitch too dense pre-block, but there’s no lace detail in the swatch.

Also my sleepy speedy knitting is super uneven :-s

Where we discover I have no way to handle a luxury skein for the first time (never had one before and am without a proper home so no tool access). It was all twisted on itself from the outset though and I hated that the ties were with the same colour yarn.

My knit pro ‘Zing’ have arrived - I can finally cast on the Ranunculus! … after I finish the xmas knits.

Maybe I can make the swatch though? :D

Danger noodles?

After my xmas knits are done I am going to make a Ranunculus tee with this lovely orange Fiberspates skein from The Yarn Cake.

Have already leafed through the pattern and am surprised how complex it is - I didn’t imagine long patterns would be popular, for some reason (happy to be wrong!)

Testing out my new neck phone camera rig. I could do with a wider field as the most distant zoom and it’s tricky to stay in the middle or know where to look but an overall success.

Went to the Women's Library for a candle decorating workshop and was inspired by Amora Yarns videos to make a "Nan's Dinner Plate" colour scheme.

Then I went round the corner to check out the For The Love of Yarn shop! Got fibre to spin, I think Merino top and Rochdale carded? Plans in alt text!

I made my first amigurumi friend!

I tamed a pteronodon in DnD with my ranger, the group named it Pterry and then sent me this free pattern, so I had to cast on and give it a go. It's such a cute angry bean :D

New Crochet book arrived! Looking forward to making the sleeves in the cover image, a nice collar or two (maybe comibining one with a sewn shirt?) and some webby fingerless gloves in future (let's be realistic) years!

I picked up a little extra from The Yarn Cake yesterday.

I've had my eye on one of these limited seasonal beauties with the BRONZE sparkle, for a couple of months. This is the 3rd sock project that I have prepped yarn for now, 2026 may be Year of The Sock!

Here's my haul from GSoY in picture - I only went about £11 over my cautious budget on the mini and needle stoppers.

I've some xmas knits and my belt to finish before I can get to spinnning (and maybe need to finish the moving process too so I have a chair to sit in, but that might take months...)

12 hours later I only managed 1/2 a belt, so I will feel very self-conscious at GSoY tomorrow without one to wear.

I'm proud of how much I've done and the design choices I've made on the fly, though, and this will definitely be a pattern prototype.

Oh no! I realised last night that I didn't bring a belt to match my outfit for Glasgow Scchool of Yarn!

There's going to be a desperate yarn-chicken sprint to improvise a belt today, wish me luck!

On the plus side, if I succeed I will have a great candidate for my first knitting pattern!
