Night Markets offer a great deal, both in terms of variety as well as value for money, but they are also always so crowded that over half of the time I don’t care order from certain stalls. OTL

Got lost in the main station again and somehow ended up in the food court. The amount of restaurant options was overwhelming so I ended up somewhere familiar: Saizeriya. (I miss their doria dishes.)

My sis asked me to get her some Smiski figures, but the only place I’ve seen them so far is all the way over at Taipei 101. _(:3 Was hoping I’d be more lucky here in the underground mall but so far no luck.

Seriously, if there is one thing I can’t stand about Taiwan/Taipei it’s the SEVERE lack of trash cans in public spaces. Japan already had few, but you’d still find them in from of conbinis. Here though, they are virtually completely absent.

want to grab some food from one of the food stalls before my day tour starts, but once again, there isn’t a single trash can in sight and I sure af do not want to walk around all day long with the empty bowl in my hand. :/

Oh, just to be clear though: Taiwan has been great so far and because my first few interactions were positive, I’m not as anxious as I was in the beginning anymore. I still don’t dare ordering from a place that doesn’t have English or pictures on their menu, but at least I go out everyday…!

That said, I’m really grateful our walking tour led us through the Longshan Temple and the guides explained all the meanings, practices and origins. It was super interesting. owo

Maybe I’m being weird but I’m never fully comfortable entering a temple or other religious building as part of sightseeing. They are a big part of the respective culture, but for me, it feels a bit disrespectful to treat these place as tourist/photo spots when other, devout people are praying there.
