In Apps Script library calls are notoriously costly. The other abstracted methods could be moved directly into the process removing the validation steps. Should a reason arise for the method to be reused over multiple processes then I would consider an abstraction and refactor.

I also try to stick with DRY, but within reason. The client's code was bogged down by calls to two libraries to which the previous dev abstracted calls. There were also some instances of abstracted methods with complex validations that were only used once or twice with little chance of reuse.
