We may not always agree, but we stand stronger together against hate.
Yeah I appreciate it's a privilege not everyone has. No idea how else to fight back against it though. At this point it seems like an inevitability that we'll have at least 5 years of a fascist nuking public services and going full Trump on minorities.

To be fair, I as a British person am already planning out my departure because I refuse to remain in the country if Reform take power. I'm not leaving because I'm upset with who is arriving, I'm leaving because I can't stand who is gaining traction in politics. They'll miss my taxes I'm sure.
November 27, 2025 at 5:42 PM
I'm on my way out, almost entirely because I refuse to remain the country when Reform take power. A lot of highly paid British people that work in jobs with high mobility will be doing the same because there's no way the country will be relatable to progressive people when they get in.

The problem is that it's not awkward at all. People on the right know they are being backed by misinformation machines from Russia and they're OK with it. All of this information is coming out showing that huge swathes of the account are inauthentic but the Reform fanatics double down.

They're wealthy land owners, they'll never get touched.

I think what Scott is doing is making it seem like "toxic masculinity" means all masculinity, which it categorically does not. And it would be great if masculinity wasn't frequently misused to encourage violence and abuse. But as it stands right now it is.
November 21, 2025 at 6:24 PM
Yes, there's nothing wrong with masculinity but it can be misused and frequently is used to radicalise young men. You only have to look at incel culture to see how bad this can get.

I recommend you read Men Who Hate Women by Laura Bates to see just how off the rails these people can go.

From what I can tell, much of what Nathan Gill said for Russia has also been parroted in incredibly similar terms by Farage. The only difference seems to be that Gill openly accepted payment for it. It seems incredibly unlikely to me that they weren't coordinating what they were saying.

I strongly hold the view that much like people in safety critical jobs, if politicians make dangerous or corrupt decisions that lead to deaths, they should be legally liable.
November 21, 2025 at 12:48 PM
Companies should be taking less in profit and paying their staff properly rather than having the taxpayer subsidise their pockets. The problem is, you say that to Iain and he start crying about it being unfair to businesses that they have to be able to actually operate properly and fairly.
November 20, 2025 at 7:26 PM
The vast majority of people he's talking about on benefits are also in work too. The problem is that work doesn't pay because too many people at the top want to horde all of the cash. People on minimum wage should be able to get by, but they can't, hence benefits.
November 20, 2025 at 7:26 PM
Like Reform supporters his view is just to deport people in need if they aren't white British guys. He has no interest in treating people as people, he treats them based on where they come from.

Meanwhile he says sod all about his Tory mates stealing taxpayer money on an industrial scale.
November 20, 2025 at 7:22 PM
This is especially true for politicians where a lot of the time it's not even a mistake. In many cases they've made active decisions to harm people because they profit from it. Getting unusable PPE from overpaid contracts to their mates is a clear example of this.
November 20, 2025 at 6:28 PM
This is one of the problems with independent inquiries. Even though they bring facts to light, they have no teeth and the politicians involved just brush them off.

I've worked in safety critical environments where I was legally liable for mistakes that kill people. Politicians should be liable too.
November 20, 2025 at 6:27 PM
These absolute scumbag politicians that actively harm people then go on to pretend it's all fine, they shouldn't just be removed from office, they should be legally liable for the damage they caused. Dorries was health minister, she should now be in jail for her part is mass manslaughter.
November 20, 2025 at 6:25 PM
Absolutely, but part of the reason they are doing that is because the media have spent years pretending that far-right extremists have a point on migration. Labour are *deeply* foolish for trying to chase those voters, but the media is responsible for creating them.
November 20, 2025 at 6:21 PM
Surely this is misconduct in public office and a legal case could be brought against him? This goes well beyond the normal way politicians lie.
November 20, 2025 at 12:15 PM
James joins in with just bashing Labour which on it's own will ultimately lead to Reform in power, because he gets more listeners and engagement from doing that than if he were to try to highlight parties that can do better and individual MPs that break ranks from the right of Labour.
November 20, 2025 at 11:38 AM
While that's completely true, one mistake James makes is by hugely underselling the amplification of the issues carried out by the media. They want Reform in power and so they amplify the bad and silence any good.

In some ways James contributes to this, by not talking up alternatives like Greens.
November 20, 2025 at 11:38 AM
Income tax increases is a prime example of how even you're falling for it, because the idea that there was going to be an income tax rise was entirely a media fabrication, and when the government said they weren't planning that, the media painted it as a u-turn.

They haven't though, clearly you are incredibly unstable and deeply indoctrinated. I suggest you seek professional help.
