Bornean orangutan, roaming freely in the digital forest, swinging from branch to branch, keeping an eye out for stinky durians and crawling insects (read: code smells and bugs). Highly arboreal, mostly solitary.
[2/2] some on a whim (think casual chit-chat), others with deliberation (think politicians). Let’s face it, synthesizing speech by regurgitating words from learned patterns is a distinctively hooman behaviour.

Not a fan of Trump by any stretch, but I loathe misinformation even more – I’d choose facts over tribalism every time.

That said, “the age of machines” is very well put – going with the buzzword would give the underlying technology too much credit. After all, the term “artificial intelligence” was coined by John McCarthy as a marketing ploy (to secure funding for his research) from the very start.

“Frameworks for hoomans in the age of machines”

I hope they’re for non-hoomans too. 😢

[1/2] As an orangutan, I deplore the explicit mention of “hooman” in the term 𝘏𝘰𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘎𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 (HIG), which is needlessly exclusionary and reflects a narrow, anthropocentric world view.

[2/2] Such framing marginalizes non-hooman apes and ignores mounting evidence that we are perfectly capable of navigating touchscreens. I have therefore taken the liberty of redefining HIG as 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘦 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘎𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 and henceforth implore every technical writer to embrace this alteration.

Regrettably, despite the resignations of its top executives, the BBC has downplayed its mistakes and remained largely defiant. Its apparent lack of critical reflection only does it a disservice, lending credibility to claims of institutional bias. No doubt the damage will be felt.
