While Lula da Silva proclaimed that “this will be the COP of truth,” his government was authorizing oil drilling at the mouth of the Amazon River. So, what truth is that, Lula?
The truth of the corporations that plunder? Or the truth of the territories that bleed? The truth of the peoples is another

There will be no just transition as long as we remain a sacrifice zone.
There will be no future as long as those who defend it continue to be criminalized.
Enough extractivism in Latin America.
It is the voice of the territories that must be heard.
Stop criminalizing those who defend life and land.

Indigenous peoples rise up out of survival.
Because mining, oil, and agribusiness are devouring their territories, and every permit approved is a death sentence for their communities and for all humanity.
Defending the Earth is not a crime: it is an act of love for life.

It is the truth of rivers poisoned with mercury from illegal mining, the truth of forests turned to ash by agribusiness, the truth of peoples displaced, criminalized & murdered for defending life. The truth of an Amazon that's dying while corporations disguise themselves as green to keep drilling

But once again, they were silenced, repressed, and pushed out of the dialogue. The same governments that speak of “inclusion” approve projects that devastate their lands, their rivers, and their spirituality.
