#Fossilfriday: Pseudorhina alifera, a species of angel shark from the Upper Jurassic Solnhofen Limestone of Germany. Pseudorhina is the oldest known genus of angel shark (145-150 million years ago.)

A local landmark in Birmingham UK, Ozzy the Bull (named after Ozzy Osbourne) was originally created for the 2022 Commonwealth Games. He was later moved to his new home in New Street Station, a major train station in Birmingham.

#FossilFriday: Edmontosaurus annectens, from the uppermost Cretaceous of North America. Recent finds published this week indicate Edmontosaurus possessed rhino-like padded feet and small, triangular spines on the tail.

#FossilFriday: Juvenile and adult skulls of the ornithomimid Gallimimus, from the Upper Cretaceous of Mongolia. Gallimimus is the largest known ornithomimid, and like other ornithomimids, likely possessed large arm feathers. Gallimimus is well known to the public, due to the #JurassicPark movies.

#FossilFriday: Velociraptor mongoliensis, a dromaeosaurid theropod from the Upper Cretaceous of Mongolia. Though famous for its appearances in the #Jurassicpark and #jurassicworld films, the Velociraptor in those movies is actually modeled after Deinonychus, a much older theropod.

The Sandia Mountains contain many different ecological zones, determined by climate and altitude. The eastern side of the mountains are more forested, due to greater precipitation. The "Hudsonian" zone reminds me of Colorado. This zone is shrinking due to the effects of global warming.

#FossilFriday: The oviraptorosaurid Caudipteryx zoui, from the Lower Cretaceous of China. Caudipteryx was described in 1998, and its discovery was a bombshell in paleontology. Caudipteryx was the first nonavian theropod known to have possessed pennaceous feathers, like those of birds.

Opened in 1873, the Cast Courts of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London display copies of some of the world's most significant works of art reproduced in plaster, electrotype, photography, and digital media. A sign next to the artwork states where the original is on display.
