This and her stance on Epstein suggests that she's consciously forging a more independent path and seeking to strengthen her MAGA credentials. Certainly worth keeping an eye on what she does next.

When I first read about the Nazis I was struck by how many individuals & corporations played polite or worse, bent the knee to Hitler. It seemed obvious that the country was moving towards dictatorship yet they made their peace with a monster. We know how it ends - yet it's happening again.

She might be safe if she were to retire and make it clear to Putin that she was still onside. Ditto Lavrov. But any tinge of opposition - or hint of
spilling secrets - would be dealt with quick smart. They made their choices long ago - a hint to Trump sycophants, once you're in, you're stuck.
