Yeah, but they meant improving the standards for _techbros_...

We are in a post scarcity economy, the general populations standards can be improved and it isn't because of hoarding and rent seeking in a broken economic model.

Lower population is irrelevant at the time of dark factories.

It pisses me off so bad when I click on a YouTube video that turns out to be AI.

It's _everywhere_ in popular topics.

Cancelled Zoom and Calendly in favour of Google. Two less things to worry about.

Far from that, Farage will amplify it as part of the perceived bias of the BBC and the right wing media will happily parrot it.

Given the ludites weren't fired from the board the BBC will play their part, even concede.

HMG will do nothing to look like not be seen influencing the press

Yes, 30 years ago...

The standards are completely off the scale even in the last decade.

My ex (younger) colleagues are completely puzzled by when I raise them some issues that happens with my kids.

Exactly, these polls are just reflection of the Daily Mail front page

It's pretty understandable given the UK education is _hugely_ grind and test driven.

If you have dyslexia, you basically have no chance getting ahead in anything mildly selective.

"Labour minister lied to please the far right" should have been the headline.

All of it. Boomers are dieing and hate everyone who does not.

Clearly everything affects you more if you are a small business

There is an app for that.

Also it works "through" the Earth and you can see what's the sky looks like on the other side

Ohh, just wanted to reply "Not since the Hindenburg..."

The US doesn't make any sense.

The way the US electorate shot themselves in the foot, literally going from the "envy of the world" to "third world country" based on imagined grievances

You wonder what state of mind the population is in?
December 11, 2025 at 12:52 PM
I don't see how the current state can last

I am looking forward to the stories around enforcement.

What if you cross the border with a burner phone?

What if you say you don't have social media? And they find out you have one 10 years ago?

Which social media? Is this down to anonymous reddit accounts?

You have no idea how many people's entire job is to massage spreadsheet and make their boss look good in front of their boss's boss.

This is a result of "Don't care how, be done by Thursday, and not checking on for the next ten years"

This is essentially half of the economy

Age.

It was always old people.

They were voting about something that they will not see the consequences (incl not needing a job anyway)

I don't understand the very concept of deporting citizens.

There are no two classes of citizenship, the fact they have another one is irrelevant.

This is just the run of the mill xenophob policy has been politicians running lately.

You want to deport citizen, try stripping their passport first.

"well regulated" = "not regulated at all"

The problem with any previous assumptions of good intent that now we know that the same SCOTUS justify to do whatever it can with the majority.

So nothing to do with textualism or farmers or any of the BS they came up before.

You might be right about Iraq, but the military industrial complex is a beast that nerds human (and dollar) sacrifice.

9/11 is a question but I don't see how Gore would have avoided it.

But in general the US social decline is institutional the events just accelerate it.
