As someone that has stopped using software/platforms due to shifts away from perfectly usable designs, AND as an engineer that builds new elements on top of 19-year-old UI/UX daily, I legitimately do not understand this mentality against preserving established UI/UX with modular design.

It depends. Some traditionalists still do, but most kobolds these days have moved on to the digital world and blow up COBOL forges instead.

You bite a buddy, it secures you to their arm, they have to give you comforting headpats with the other hand, it gives you a safe and comfy environment for a good cry, and there's the opportunity for cuddles afterward. It's wins all around!

Two key games I can think of in recent memory that I really enjoyed the premise of but had to return because of these issues are Lunacid ( no pause function ) and Dread Delusion ( no quick save).

Both of these games looked fun, but those features are make-or-break!
