I’m not the expert here, but it feels like Trump threatening to withhold federal funding if #Mamdani is elected is pretty blatant election interference? It’s one thing to speak out again the candidate on a policy basis but telling NYers that you will retaliate if he’s elected? Seems pretty clear.

Just a note to all those billionaires out there who decided to bend the knee for the sake of expediency rather than using your endless money to actually fight:

This Presidency may well pass, but you’ll never be able to unsuck his dick.

The fact that every morning news headline on TV and in print isn’t “President does another absolutely bat-shit crazy thing in bid to seize absolute power!” Is legitimately a failing of the Fourth Estate right now. They’re all “fake news” now, though not in the way Trump meant it.

This is Portland right now. We’re“under siege” by pollen and potholes, that’s about it. We have a ton of live webcams if you want to watch us go to the farmers markets or walking our dogs, we love dogs.
Release the Epstein files.

People are right when they call America a “once great nation”, in that we have been great exactly once and, like a high school quarterback winning a clutch senior homecoming game, we are riding that single win into a paunch, balding mid-life crisis.

If you’re wondering how weird and unhinged TikTok censoring has become under the new guidelines, TikTok just censored this comment I posted:

Some of the posts supporting Charlie Kirk are absolutely hilarious. They use words to describe him like he parachuted behind enemy lines to save an orphanage. Yes, he “stood up for his beliefs”, but it certainly wasn’t “bravely”. He was a heterosexual white Christian male. No bravery was necessary.

No, I don’t want to go camping. Ever. Thanks. We spent 50,000 years advancing civilization from ground sleeping to indoor plumbing, air conditioning, and memory foam mattresses, and I’m not really interested in your caveman re-enactment fetish.

Here’s my hot take of the day: I fundamentally disagree with the notion that parents have the “right to decide what their children learn”. Children are autonomous humans who deserve to be properly educated to make their own choices in life, not receptacles for your flavor of propaganda.

MAGA will root for a wise cracking vigilante hero in a movie and then when they attempt to do anything “strong” from a leadership perspective, fail to realize that all their actions look identical to the villains that hero was fighting.

MAGA might applaud denaturalization efforts and banning trans people from owning guns, but tyranny doesn’t spare loyalty. Members of the Nazi party didn’t sleep soundly at night. They worried that they or thier children might say something that offended their leaders, and they would become the enemy

It’s a good time to remind people that the stock market isn’t about betting on the performance of a company. Instead, you’re betting on how rich people will spend their money.

So, which of Schumers donors do you think is pulling the strings to make him dance right now? As an old school NY politician, I know he likely has some measure of shady shit in his history here and there. It certainly feels like someone has him by the balls. Or many he never really had any.

The irony is not lost on me that had Trump actually won the election in 2020, we would have dealt with 4 more years of his circus, but not the dismantling of our government we are seeing now. The four angry years that conservatives and oligarchs had to prepare are the dangerous difference.

I’ve never understood how Republicans call themselves the party of Christians, but if I tell you that I want to feed the hungry, heal the sick, and house the homeless, you know exactly which political party I voted for.

People who think this is all about Tax Cuts are seriously underestimating the end goal. Tell me if this sounds familiar:

1: Campaign as an autocrat.
2: Purge all government employees
3: Ignore the courts…

These are the first 3 steps in a blueprint developed to build an autocratic state.

First post on Bluesky, and I’m looking for some good quick follow recommendations. Here are some keywords that might be of interest: progressive, CIS ally, BLM, tech, filmmaking, poly, D/s, PLUR, art, music (almost all of it, but jazz and edm forward), comedy, books, and last but not least, corgis.
