Basically, whatever you use to post to Bluesky decides how links in your post look. If it doesn’t include a description or picture to use, then they won’t be in the post. (Which means there isn’t a simple answer to why a link looks a given way, it’s up to whatever made the post.)

It’s caused by whatever your Bluesky client is. Bluesky is weird: the embed for a link is client-generated and then stored in the post record.
(This can create some really annoying posts if you write your own client, the embed can be quite long!)

Also, ironically enough, my Windows 11 PC is basically unusable right now because Search Indexer is taking up all the CPU and memory.
