My main problem is most of my podcast listening happens on iOS; where everything else is Linux / android.hard to find a foss-ish system that does what I want it to do, and making my own is apple tax for making an app.
Right now I'm using pocket casts, it works well

The most any sane person would do is host their own PDS, but that's just data storage for your own content- all the data for the feed is powered by bluesky's relay service
