I'm a software guy by trade, so it's always exciting to fix a household item by taking it apart.

Pictured is my venerated #Kobo, who reset itself and refused to connect to WiFi or a computer after being left unattended for a year. Popped it open, got the SD card in my computer, and restored it!

Fun fact:

As of today, we are now closer to 2050 than we are to 2000.

Along the way, I took more notes than I've ever taken for a game. I used #Obsidian, naturally.

Truly fascinating line in a job description I was sent recently.

And lastly, I made a change to desktop to use space a little better there as well. If there's a subtitle (as there is for all games and books in series), the text will now wrap around that side box instead of starting below it.

These are all small changes, but I think they're worthwhile. Enjoy! 5/5

This improvement was _extra_ noticeable on my simpler review boxes, like those seen on genre-specific pages and review system explanations.

There's now some new empty space above the review text, but something always has to give. 3/5

It was especially noticeable on reviews whose body text was taller than the poster image. All the text was shoved into a single column (which got really narrow on mobile layouts).

In the new layout, the review text gets the full width and extra info is moved to the top area. 2/5

Great post as always!

Super minor nit: the image of Bletchley park at the very bottom is wider than the viewport, so the whole page has horizontal scroll to it. It also makes the rainbow header not hit the top right corner. Just FYI!

"Dont worry", says the App Store, "Only one of these is an ad!"

Is there not a way to customize which Bluesky push notifications I get on my phone? I don't need likes or follows, but do want mentions and DMs. The equivalent of this screen:

Whoa #TIL that #iOS can identify plants for you now?? This is on the release 18.0.1 channel, no betas or #AI involved. Neat!
