Check out our writeup of xagg, the #python package to aggregate gridded data (e.g. climate, weather) to polygons (e.g. ADMIN# layers) in @joss-openjournals.bsky.social . `xagg` aggregates based on relative area overlaps b/w the raster and polygons and optionally by other grids (e.g., pop density)!
