Having not seen the movie yet, it could be that they thought the character could have been good and, had he been given the time to be fleshed out, could have been a really good story, like Muldoon.

Alas, Sega's kind of run it into the ground. Loved the game, and even made content for it, but once New Genesis came about, both sides have been on auto-pilot.
Would recommend 100% to try, though. Both "Base" PSO2 and NGS combat feels great, in different ways.

Everything was bad when looking at the current lens. Look at the tournament decks from pre-Modern sets, and how many of them would have replacements for most every card? Heck, there's a reason why Legacy/Vintage have a large percentage of new cards outside of Power and Duals.
