Chelsea have started turning things around after that shock Ipswich loss, showing signs of inspiration again.

Their next big test? Man City tomorrow—the same team that handed them a 2-0 defeat on opening day.

How far has Maresca’s system evolved? Tomorrow will tell.

Chelsea heads to the Etihad for Round 23—a big test for how much Enzo Maresca’s system has grown.

In the first leg, Enzo Fernandez played as a #10, Cole Palmer was on the right. Now, with Lavia out, Maresca is still searching for answers in midfield.

Let’s talk about Chelsea - Wolves

✅ Good stuff:

- Chalobah is back, defensively solid, scored… sorry, assisted Madueke
- Reece James, most progressive passes in the game, tied with Matheus Cunha
- Winless streak ends, Chelsea is back in top 4
- Good control of the game

Chelsea looks to regain their form after dropping out of Premier League's top 4.

Meanwhile Wolverhampton are just above the relegation zone and three points would start putting some distance between them and Ipswich

Cole Palmer's goal was spectacular but it was Nicolas Jackson who put Chelsea in a huge advantage.

By squeezing the ball between three opponents, Chelsea basically bypassed the entire Bournemouth midfield. So the 4v4 against their back line now turned into a 5v4 with Jackson joining.

Honestly, when the free kick came, I was 100% sure Cole would shoot, even though the position was perfect for a right foot shot.

Forgot that Reece James is amazing at set pieces and hopefully he will stay away from injuries this time

Chelsea dominated the first half and completely overpowered Bournemouth, but yet they managed to score only once.

Substituting Romeo Lavia changed the dynamic, leaving gaps in midfield, which Bournemouth lethally exploited.

A dissapointing second half where Chelsea didn’t end the game in the first half and paid the price, but salvaged late by James.

Bournemouth equalized early on with a well taken penalty and took the lead by taking advantage of a build-up mistake.

Great first half by Chelsea but with a lot of missed chances

Bournemouth biggest scoring opportunity was gifted by Sanchez with one of his trademark mistakes, an easily intercepted pass

Jacskon generated 0,93xG from Chelsea’s total 1,90 but failed to convert

Chelsea looks to break away from their four game winless streak against Bournemouth!

Despite their somewhat underwhelming performance, Bournemouth’s record is a stark contrast to Chelsea’s with the cherries being unbeaten in their last eight games.
