3/3 The battle, fought in an area enclosed by hills, was characterised by bold manoeuvres on the part of the Carthaginians. Nevertheless, the stoically advancing legionaries were able to secure victory, even though the Roman cavalry was defeated. With morale at 7 to 4, the Carthaginians capitulated.

2/3 The battle was fought in July 2025 at the Rhein-Main Tabletop Club between me and my mate Jan. There was enthusiastic recruiting beforehand: I led 1400 points of Romans into the field against Jan’s 1400 Point Carthaginians.

Thanks! I get some things done by a painting service, but these figures I did myself :-)

Ich habe auch seit Sommer 2018 begonnen, mich für das Tabletop-Hobby zu interessieren und dann Anfang 2019 mit dem Bemalen meiner ersten Armee (Seleukiden für DBMM) angefangen :-)

Wow, a truly dramatic finale!

4/4 ... which Ulrich von Hanau cannot know, however. He feels provoked and gathers his troops in front of the city wall.

3/4 ... until suddenly the people of Frankfurt appear on the road leading them to Gelnhausen. They harbour no ill intentions towards Marköbel...

2/4 Shortly after sunrise, there is still idyllic peace in front of the city wall of Marköbel...

3/3 The miniatures are from "Studio Historia" and are excellently sculpted! I will begin with two units of Heavy Infantry (in Lion Rampant terminology), which I have already undercoated and are ready for painting. I hope to be able to complete the entire project in the first half of 2026.

2/3 Again, it has a connection to #Frankfurt, which appears in the sources as "Franconofurd" - a ford on the Main river, conveniently situated at the crossroads of key routes. Under the Carolingians it gained importance as an assembly and residence site. (Picture: © Archäologisches Museum Frankfurt)

Very impressive! 👍🏻

2/2 It was a bloody, costly battle: the Roman left collapsed, but the centre held against marauding war elephants, and fierce fighting raged on the right! The armies' morale values fell almost in unison, and in the end, the Romans narrowly managed to secure a narrow victory by morale 1 : morale 0.

You are warmly welcome to our multiverse - it's really worth it! Unfortunately, I didn't manage to go this year, but next year I'll be going again, perhaps even with my own demo board 😅

8/8 I always do the basing myself - to save costs, and so that I can design the bases exactly according to my own vision. While the main work is done by the painting service, you can still put in a lot of your own work, which is also fun! See my Egyptians here: bsky.app/profile/jens...
225 bases, 780 figures, 4.8 kg : My DBMM army "New Kingdom Egyptian" (Book I/22) 😎 These are 15mm figures from Essex, painted by Paintingservice Fernando. However, I painted the generals, the camp, and the ships myself. The basing with "desert sand" is also done by me. #dbmm #15mm #wargaming

7/8 The figures lie in the foam-padded cardboard cases. I am very satisfied with the quality of these Egyptians!
