I mean, I'm not mad at this (I downloaded this photo to remind me to use weights in my workouts, ha!)

I did not get up fast enough for Oscar (Benn had fed him at 6am), so at 7.30am he decided to miaow at the bedroom door until I let him in. He then proceeded to stomp all over me whilst grumbling, then sat at the threshold of the room miaowing til I got up. He then ignored me.

When you want some peace but Hades' cat wants to sit in judgement of you (he makes little cute chirruping noises periodically when he thinks I'm ignoring him, so all is forgiven)

Got some excellent nerdy books today from Oxfam. The Black Death grabbed my eye because of the cover (from 1983), and the bird watching book is from 1967 and features a chapter on 'books and gramophone records' in the section about learning to identify different species

Looks like Oscar has been secretly modelling for TKMaxx's Halloween mug range on the side (of course I bought it)

They say that doodles are an insight to your subconscious. My subconscious is clearly a terrifying baby owl?

Right lads, today is marginally better as the cat didn't wake me up til 5.25, there was no cat sick to sit in and I'm WFH today.

Might not have two braincells to rub together but he sure is excellent company when my brain decides to beat me up (am fine, don't worry.)

Finished my first piece of tatreez! My next door neighbour's family is from Hebron, so I did some research and found this pattern from that region. The pattern is called Qamar, which means moon and like many designs from Hebron is geometric. I used Tirazain, an online database in English and Arabic

Today I'm feeling like a staunch character. S-T-A-U-N-C-H.

If only everyone was as pleased to see me as Pippin is (we only had a short walk today and I had to stop him crashing a yoga class because they'd left a door open for fresh air. And yes everyone is making the same downward dog joke)

In honour of Moo Deng's first birthday yesterday, plan to be the following this weekend:

Sometimes I marvel at how I can make such fancy looking stuff with a bit of string (this is page 1 of a 12 page sampler of Rome; the bit at the top is St Peter's Square)

"But WHY can't I eat the jigsaw puzzles?" asks my strange hairy son.
July 6, 2025 at 10:39 AM
Yes I did buy novelty Halloween tea towels and a gaudy glass pumpkin today from Home Sense. Yes, I may go back and get one of the smaller orange glass pumpkins.

I needed a TREAT, ok?

Finished the Brooklyn 99 cross stitch for the child- just waiting for a frame to arrive
June 26, 2025 at 3:56 PM
I'll not be doing the jigsaw, then. Thanks, Oscar.

How I felt today after telling my Italian co-worker "ho molto caldo" and she replied with "sì, anch'io"

(I am currently only able to construct simple sentences and often get my grammar wrong, but she has also commented that my accent is good too, so ben fatto to me)
