Great compilation of the badgers at the local sett. Sadly it’s that time of year again when the cull begins. It’s hard to believe that these dudes might not be around by the end of October.

As much as this little cub is enjoying having a bounce!…. They are probably very thirsty in this heat.

Please put some water out for the wildlife near you so they can remain hydrated when attacking the dance floor!

Back at the sett where the polecat was spotted. This is one of my favourite setts, it’s really hard to get to and very well hidden. I leave a camera up and don’t return for as long as possible to avoid disturbing it too much. There’s always something nice to view, polecats, foxes, badgers.

Retrieved the camera from the sett that I was monitoring. I had moved it to a different entrance as hadn’t seen the cub for a week or so. When reviewing, I was pleased to see the cub again and then had to check my eyes.. almost didn’t spot it, but a second cub has emerged!

Found a little fledgling in the allotment this morning, possibly a blackbird or robin. Picked them up and checked the wings and didn’t see any injuries. Left them alone with a dish of water and came to look at them hourly. Just been back and they’ve gone, so hopefully back with mum and recovered 🤞

Another cub update, they’re doing well and getting feisty!!

Will monitor for another week and then probably remove the cameras and leave the clan in peace

Another camera at a different sett. Spotted what I think is a polecat today!

Anyone able to confirm or suggest what else they could be? The mask looks light rather than dark so im not 100% confident.

Back on the badgers!

Looking for signs of orphaned cubs after a deceased badger was reported close to this sett. Cameras put up to monitor for any cubs that may emerge looking for food or mum.
