I’ve got to read them for “work” so maybe I should write a little thing about what I read too 🤔

Same for who created Great Metal God which we translated!! Big thanks to them and @mangamavericks.bsky.social for entrusting us with translating their work!

Perhaps the biggest honor is getting an autograph from an author whose work you translated! StriAlgo was responsible for bringing Alternative by Chiaki Yagara in English, so to know they like our work is amazing! 🤩

Then by surprise I ran into manga Taisho winning “Draw this and Die” author Minoru Toyoda! We talked about Shogakukan a bit and he gave me an autograph after I bought his doujin! (seven seas is putting this one out, and an anime has been green lit!)

Then from Doku Doku Mori Mori author Noboru Segawa who we interviewed earlier this year! (yen press announced an English version during NYCC!)

It was so much fun! I wish i were younger and thus able to take all of the walking.

I just love the title for this one, tbh

This manga by Maru Mizuta and Gen Tamura was on sale along with some merch. It’ll be serialized in Aokishi so not Shogakukan but both authors have done Shogakukan works!

I also got to meet Satoshi Kisaichi (Black channel) sensei and buy some of his doujin along with giving him my card! 🤩 ありがとうございますきさいち先生！

At the Shonen Sunday table was this short strip by Gosho Aoyama for new mangaka to read about the basics of making manga.

I also got to see Shogakukan editorial consult with up and coming mangaka here as well. It’s kind of exciting to think how many of these artiefts will eventually find their way into the magazine (and thus be covered here) as well as the works each magazine thinks as representative of their label.

I bought so much 😭 I will never financially recover from this. #COMITIA154
