Well done for getting it on line 5
I needed the last line - bit of a stinker🤭

Well done!

I read, Prue Leith's which to be fair was quite interesting. Though I don't remember if she mentioned Apartheid. I threw it out in disgust when I realised who her prick of a son is.
Trevor Noah's 'Born a crime' might interest you though. So insightful, heart-breaking & funny.

I generally love biographies & autobiographies too. One to avoid is Michael Crawford's - unless it's recent. The one I read 20ish years ago was just a tedious list of dates. It was missing the humour I'd hoped for.
Bill Bryson's 'Notes from a Small Island' I really enjoyed. Great observations.

I had to read Frankenstein for A level, I was dreading it but it was really interesting.
If anybody ever suggests 'Lord of The Flies' to me though - they can F Fly off!

It's a good idea for a long trip, especially on boring motorways.

Never trust a woman with a camera😂😂
November 29, 2025 at 11:27 PM
It's a good point. Imagine if they asked you to read Pride & Prejudice! I'd be in heaven, I know it really well already. You though...🤭😳🤣

It's a long time since I've read a book in one or 2 sittings. In days of yore I could spend an entire weekend in bed reading. Bed is the comfiest place to read. Though I always get dressed or I'd fall asleep

You both have smiley eyes though & look relaxed
You do look lovely in your photos. Certainly not glum!😂

My mum is one of those who gets tense around a camera & always looks better in photos she doesn't know about🤔

Oh, isn't that a shame😂🤣
I suppose it would be wrong to hope that GBeebies went the same way...🤔

I never think about listening to books.
I have tried, sort of instead of music, but can't concentrate.
I listened to a podcast while I was sewing last week. Kept having to rewind bits I'd missed. But if it was a story I knew..
Could be worth a try, thank you😊

That's wonderful🥰

Ha, ha - that is truly brilliant!!

Hi, I'm fine, thank you.

Thank you.

That puts "...and the clock struck 13" into the shade!

I followed him when we were all on Twitter - he has an account here, but nothing posted.
It's so encouraging when authors do meet children, it can make a huge difference. I forget who my nephew met when they came to school - but it helped get him reading. My niece met Micheal Morpurgo - loved him

I've seen & enjoyed both versions and love the book.

I don't remember if that featured in the newer version. But it was when Jenny Agutter played Bobbie

The religious thing passed me by too.
But Religion really didn't feature much when I was growing up. CofE stood for Christmas & Easter - it was the only time it featured.🤷🏻‍♀️

If M is anything like her lovely mum, she didn't hold back...🤭

I loved the adaptations of 'His Dark Materials'. the books are at the top of my must read pile.
I've got embroidery going at the moment & it does tend to be one or the other.
